The founders of ANCHOR NURSERY,
Peggy and Herbert Mason, started the
nursery as a hobby in an old Cow shed on a
small holding called ANCHOR RIDGE. The
hobby grew as Newcastle grew and the
demand for plants and gardening material
became too great thus nursery became
an Established retail business in February
1982.
On the 25th November 1990, the nursery
was bought by Attlee and Bernice Clark and
over the years have improved the aesthetics
of the nursery. The nursery is situated at the
top of Victoria Road, Aviary Hill, in a tranquil
setting and it is enjoyable to sit, relax and
reflect on a busy day by watching and
listening to the birds.
